Lazy Dog Vineyard is located in Sonoma Valley at the northwest corner of Carriger Road and Grove Street. The ranch lies in the evening shadow of the Nicholas Carriger Estate.  On these lands, it is often reported that Mr. Carriger became the first American to grow wine grapes in Sonoma Valley.  We produce premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec wine grapes.

Our vineyard is situated in the Carriger Creek benchland.  The soils are a mix of well drained alluvial fan with basalt cobbles from Sonoma Mountain.  This geologically complex soil creates particularly fine textured wines.

We produce premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec wine grapes in a vineyard that was established in 2002.  The vines are planted five feet apart with six foot wide rows.  A vertical shoot position trellis system is utilized.  See the Vineyard Map below for the blocks and grape varietals.
